Almost one year old. Zowie. It has been a blur. Of course new things happen all the time, but with first words and increased hand gestures, this month seems to have brought even more tiny miracles than usual. Here’s a partial list:
5/9: Maybe she said “mama,” but it’s hard to be sure.
5/10: Definitely sorta’ said “mama.”
5/12: Shakes whatever object is in her hand when we say “shake.”
5/12: Maybe said “dada,” even though we’re trying for “baba” instead (the Chinese version).
5/13: Definitely sorta’ said “dada.”
5/14: Waves when we say “wave,” about 50% of the time.
5/25: Consistently saying “baba” more than any other word (I’m sure this will pass as soon as she comes to her senses and realizes that “mama” is a much more useful word than “baba”). [6/5 update: Sure enough, "mama" is by far the most frequent word that comes out of her mouth.]
5/27: Slept through the whole night last night for the first time.
5/27: For the first time, her dinner consisted of more real food than baby food, and it was Chinese food to boot (tofu and wontons).
5/28: Did NOT sleep through the night last night. Bummer.
5/29: Did.
5/30: Did not.
5/31: Did not (hmm… I guess we’re not quite there yet.)
