Today is Mother’s Day. I can’t think of a better present:

We did some fun Mother’s Day stuff; we had Susan’s mom and the Bramers (Susan’s sister’s family) over for pancakes, and that was nice. I do make a mean pancake, if I don’t say so myself (though that is pretty much the only thing I can make that is fit to serve guests).
So it was a nice day all around, but Exie talking was what made it uniquely special. How many times does your child say her first words? That would be once.
